To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones has joined CLIC Sargent to show his support for children with cancer by wearing a gold ribbon.

Carwyn Jones AM said “I am delighted to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. By wearing a gold ribbon it is an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact that childhood cancer has on families and of the great work that CLIC Sargent do in supporting young cancer patients and their families. I would urge everyone to wear a gold ribbon this September.”

Lorraine Clifton, CLIC Chief Executive, said: “We’re so pleased that Carwyn Jones AM will be wearing a gold ribbon and supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Every month, thousands of children and their families have to cope with the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis. Cancer treatment for children is often gruelling and can start immediately, last as long as three years and take place many miles from home. CLIC Sargent is here to provide vital practical, emotional and financial support from diagnosis onwards”.
