Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones recently paid a visit to the Remploy Bridgend Office based at Brackla House in the town. Remploy Cymru is Wales’ largest disability employment organisation supporting disabled and disadvantaged people into secure, sustainable jobs.
During his visit, Mr Jones met Helen Northmore, Business Development Director at Remploy Cymru, Sam Harvey, Business Manager and Jill Evans, employment adviser. He also had an opportunity to talk to some of the candidates who are receiving support. The candidates were taking part in a job action group. Mr Jones was told that since 2010, Remploy Cymru has supported a total of over 17,000 people into work.
Mr Jones said “Remploy does a great job and I would like to thank Helen, Sam and Jill for talking to me about Remploy’s work in the area. It was great to observe a job action group and to meet some of the candidates who are receiving support. It was interesting to hear their stories and about how the support they have received has made such a difference to their lives”.
