Bridgend Assembly Member Carwyn Jones visits Porthcawl Shout Forum

IMG_5897Last Friday, February 6th, Assembly Member Carwyn Jones spoke to Porthcawl Shout Forum in Trinity Church, Porthcawl following an invitation from the group chair, Gary Victor.

All attendees were very engaged asking a large variety of questions about national issues such as the NHS, the Independent Living Fund and the Seven Bridge as well as more local issues such as GP provision in Portway surgery as well as funding and the regeneration of Porthcawl.

Commenting after the event Carwyn Jones said “I very much enjoyed meeting many of the members of Porthcawl Shout on Friday. It was a good opportunity to take on board the views of people within my constituency who are very passionate about improving not only Wales but also their community in Porthcawl.”

Gary Victor, Chair of the Porthcawl Shout Forum, commenting on the meeting said
“We are indebted again for the return visit of Carwyn Jones AM and First Minister who was our guest speaker at Trinity Church Porthcawl. Members were pleased with the informal question and answer format that covered a wide variety of concerns from the Health Service, Education, Blue Badges and many more. Our major campaign to upgrade our G P service with a new Primary Health Care facility was addressed by Carwyn and later by representatives from the Health Board at this well attended meeting”.
