New business comes to The Rhiw Centre

In May 2017, Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones welcomed new traders to The Rhiw Centre in Bridgend. Den Clothing Company is owned by Matt Smith and Helen Lewis. The shop opened in The Rhiw on the 13th May and since then their store has been attracting a lot of interest.

Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones said “It was good to meet Matt and Helen and to have a chat with them about their store and about why they chose to base themselves in The Rhiw.”

The shop sells high quality clothing – a wide range of rock and metal official merchandise together with accessories. They also stock a wide range of fair trade clothing, accessories and homewares. All rock and metal merchandise that they stock is officially licensed using the highest quality materials and their fair trade items are ethically sourced, mainly originating from Nepal and India.

Mr Jones also took the opportunity to have a chat with other traders in The Rhiw including Dave Easterbrook of Fizzy Foam, who is based next door to Den Clothing Company. Mr Jones said “It was interesting to hear Dave talk about his business and his views on the town centre.”

Mr Jones added “It is certainly good to see independent small businesses committing to Bridgend town centre and I wish Den Clothing Company well.”
