It has been heartening to see the enthusiastic reaction I have received from constituents providing ideas and feedback in response to my previous column on Porthcawl regeneration.
I have been interested to read about all of the things that are important to people living in and around the town and to see the aspirations that people have for placing Porthcawl firmly on the map as a premier seaside resort with attractions for all the family to enjoy.
Ideas for activities and facilities for residents and visitors enjoying the seaside meet with aspirations to improve the look of the town centre and boost trade for our local and independent businesses. Porthcawl must have intergenerational appeal, bringing new and old visitors alike.
People are naturally keen to know that their contributions will weigh into future decisions on the shape and direction of the ongoing phases of regeneration. Some details are already set such as the improvements to the Harbour but there is much still to shape before new proposals are taken forward for public consultation.
I am thankful to all those who have taken the time to respond so far. I will carry on taking your constructive feedback, keep meeting with constituents and groups and continue to represent your views to the Cabinet at Bridgend County Borough Council.
