It is always enjoyable when constituents visit the Welsh Assembly and in just under two weeks time, I am very much looking forward to welcoming members of Porthcawl Art Society and Museum to the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff Bay. I am delighted to have been asked to support and host a very special exhibition at the Assembly staged by the Porthcawl Art Society. The exhibition will run from the 12th to the 18th September in the Oriel, at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay.
The exhibition will celebrate the work of the Porthcawl Art Society and will raise the profile of both the Society and the Museum. The Art Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year so it is a great opportunity for the Artists to showcase a number of their finest paintings in the exhibition. There will be paintings portraying landscapes, floral scenes, portraits, seascapes and paintings showing local scenes of Porthcawl. There will also be posters on display from the Museum, giving people a flavour of what is on offer at the Museum. As part of the exhibition, there will also be photos on a loop showcasing a greater number of works from the Artists and special events that have been held at the Museum.
There will also be a reception to promote their display. Having the exhibition at the Senedd is a fantastic opportunity for the Art Society’s work to be seen by a wider audience.
