Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones was very pleased to support Macmillan Cymru’s coffee morning in the Senedd last week. Macmillan Cymru were in the Senedd to raise awareness of their flagship fundraising event World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 30 September 2016. Over a cuppa and a piece of cake, Mr Jones heard more about Macmillan’s work supporting people affected by cancer in Wales.
Now in its 26th year, World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest annual fundraising event.
Mr Jones said “Macmillan is a hugely important organisation for so many people who are living with cancer. Lots of people have heard of the Macmillan nurses but they are one part of the work that Macmillan does. Macmillan does a huge amount in making sure people have information about cancer and supporting people when they are told that they have cancer. Indeed, they help people from the moment they are diagnosed, with medical and practical help, as well as emotional and financial support. Macmillan does a great job to give an overall service to people”.
Mr Jones added “I will also be supporting the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this weekend when I pop into an event in Bridgend. It is a great fundraiser, it brings people together and helps raise awareness of Macmillan’s work”.
