A new £7 million project to tackle unemployment amongst over 25 year olds in the South Wales valleys was announced this week by Finance and Government Business Minister, Jane Hutt AM.
The Bridges into Work 2 project, which will be led by Torfaen Council and backed by £5.4 million of EU funds, will support out-of-work people in Bridgend, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Torfaen.
Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones has welcomed the news that more help and support will be available to tackle unemployment amongst the over 25s in his Bridgend constituency.
Mr Jones said “By offering a range of support from help with job searches and with IT skills through to CV writing and interview training, the Bridges into Work scheme will give people an opportunity to develop new skills which will give them confidence to re-enter the job market”.
