Bridgend MS welcomes lottery funding for local social enterprise

Thanks to National Lottery funding, services that help people affected by dementia across the Bridgend constituency, can continue. Bridgend MS Carwyn Jones has welcomed the news that Halo Leisure Service based in Bridgend has been successful in its bid for funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.

With the funding received from the Lottery, Halo Leisure Service will offer telephone support and create and distribute printed ‘reminiscence packs’ to allow people to enjoy and to keep mentally active while at home. They will also look to support people’s physical well-being by creating and distributing exercise materials on DVD and online to enable people to remain healthy and physically active in their own homes. They will also provide exercise equipment so those who are isolated are not left behind.

Mr Jones said “It is good to see this funding going to such a worthwhile project so that many more people across my constituency can continue to get the vital support that they need.”

The National Lottery remains open to new applications. If your organisation has any questions about National Lottery funding available, please contact Iwan Llewelyn, Communications & Engagement Officer, at [email protected]
