On Friday 4th October I was honoured to officially open the first Poppy ‘Drop In’ in Bridgend.
The Poppy ‘Drop In’, situated in Dunraven Place, has been set up in order to raise awareness, as well as funds for the Poppy Appeal and Armed Forces.
It enables people to show their support through the selling of poppies, wreaths and other merchandise, which sees all money raised going to help fund vital services within the Armed Forces.
I would like to thank the Bridgend Branch of the Royal British Legion for inviting me to officially open the Poppy ‘Drop In’.
As we approach the centenary of WWI, it is so important that we remember the sacrifices of those who have fought in the Armed Forces in the last 100 years.
I applaud the opening of the Poppy ‘Drop In’ in Bridgend and will encourage everybody to contribute by donating to the appeal and wearing a poppy in support of the Royal British Legion and the work they do for veterans.”
