MS Carwyn poses your queries to the First Minister during virtual Plenary session

Today, all 60 members of the Welsh Parliament/Senedd came together virtually to join the Plenary session via zoom for the first time during this pandemic. With a lot of business to get through, Plenary proceedings started at 11am and after a short break for lunch, continued until late afternoon.

During First Minister’s Questions, MS for Bridgend Carwyn Jones asked two questions on behalf of his constituents. Following a number of queries to his office about tennis he asked when playing tennis could resume. Also, he asked the First Minister about lifeguard services and safety on our beaches.

Mr Jones said “I have, within 5 miles of my constituency, no fewer than eight beaches, which are very popular. Five of them would normally have Royal National Lifeboat Institution lifeguard cover. I asked the First Minister what is the Welsh Government doing to make sure that people are aware of the fact that there’s no lifeguard cover, when there normally would be at this time of year? And what information is being given to the public to make sure that they are safe, given the fact that that cover is not there?
