Côr Bro Ogwr striking all the right notes

Bridgend & District Local History Society and Côr Bro Ogwr took over Carnegie House in Bridgend at the end of February to host a very special photographic exhibition. On display were photos celebrating twenty years of Côr Bro Ogwr and photos of Old Bridgend and surrounding areas. The special exhibition was officially opened by Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones.

Mr Jones said “It was a great pleasure to attend this very special exhibition. As an Honorary President of the choir, I was absolutely delighted to be asked to officially open it. It was lovely to see photos of the choir taken on their various tours including the American and the Barbados tours. I do try to get to as many of their concerts as I can, diary commitments allowing.

“It was also great to catch up with many members of the choir and to hear about their latest rehearsals. I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to take part in one of their rehearsals. During that rehearsal, what struck me was their absolute professionalism and high production values. This probably explains the longevity of the choir.

“It is wonderful to see the choir going from strength to strength. Here’s to another 20 years and I very much look forward to attending future concerts.”
