A major upgrade package of works is planned by Bridgend County Borough Council between now and March 2021. The work is being funded by Welsh Government and funding from Bridgend Council’s own Capital Programme for 2020-1. The local authority will carry out resurfacing work, repairs and improvement works across its local highway network investing around £2.25m.

Streets where pavements are set for renewal include, Ton Glas in Bryntirion, Pyle Inn Way, the High Street at Laleston, Protheroe Avenue in Penyfai, and Cae Odin at Brackla. Additional asphalt resurfacing work will take place at, Bradfield Road in Cefn Glas.

Mr Jones said “I am pleased to see this level of investment in the county’s local road network. The state of the pavements and some of the roads are often raised with me in advice surgeries with people asking when action will be taken for repairs. Once these works are completed I know that this will bring much need improvements for my constituents moving around the county borough.”
