Over the past few weeks, I have been delighted to welcome community groups from across my constituency of Bridgend to the Senedd, Assembly Building in Cardiff Bay.
I am very proud of the Senedd. It is not just a building for Assembly Members; it is a public building to be enjoyed by everyone. It is the main public building of the National Assembly and the main centre for democracy and devolution in Wales. The Senedd is open 7 days a week and is open for visitors to listen and watch Government Ministers being scrutinised; legislation being discussed and debates taking place in the Chamber, while at the same time having the opportunity to view exhibitions being launched or events taking place around the building.
Across Bridgend there are so many community groups which provide support and enjoyment to members of the public through weekly get-togethers, delivering services that enhance the lives of others. I am very proud of these organisations and the hard work of the volunteers which make up these groups.
If you are a member of a community group or local volunteer organisation and are interested in a tour at the Senedd please get in touch with my constituency office in Bridgend or visit the Assembly website.
