During one of his regular meetings with the local Health Board, Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB, Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones raised an important question about PPE. A number of constituents had approached Mr Jones about their concerns regarding the availability of PPE both for NHS frontline workers and for social care staff.
In response to Mr Jones’ questions, the Chair of the Health Board stated that every effort is being made to ensure adequate PPE is available and their teams continue to work hard to replenish stocks of PPE. All avenues of supply at local and national levels are being followed up and exploited.
Mr Jones was also told that a detailed tracking system is in operation for monitoring stock levels across all their sites and for recording any areas of concern. Regular PPE updates are shared with staff.
Mr Jones said ” It was a useful and constructive discussion with the Health Board. It is so important to take part in these discussions to ensure that I can feed in your views. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all those individuals and businesses who have offered their great skills to donate PPE or have produced PPE to replenish our stocks. Thank you/Diolch for your incredible efforts.”
