I was honoured to be invited to officially open the new school building for Pen-y-Fai Primary School.
Also present for the opening was the Leader of the Council, the Mayor of Bridgend County Borough Cllr Gary Thomas, Cabinet Member for Children & Young People, Pen-y-Fai School Council, Director of Children Services Deborah MacMillan, Headteacher Mrs Christina Bach, Chair of Governors Mr Steve Harrett and Assistant Bishop of Llandaff Rt Reverend David Wilbourne. Special guests also included cabinet Member for Resources Cllr Mike Gregory and Local member Cllr David Lewis.
The long -awaited development has benefitted from a £4.3 million investment from the Welsh Government and Bridgend County Borough Council. The new school will include a new nursery unit, reception class, renovated hall and refurbished classrooms. I was able to see at first-hand how the new facilities will benefit the students and staff.
