Out and about in Porthcawl and Pyle

It is always a great pleasure to speak to members of Porthcawl Shout Forum and my visit last month was no exception. In a hugely enjoyable and lively session, members asked me questions on the Swansea Tidal Lagoon, cycle paths, solar panels, Bus subsidies, flood defences, Flybe and on Brexit where the views of members mirrored the rest of the country with their growing frustration with the current situation. However, two main topics dominated our very lively discussions namely the regeneration of the town including the current proposals for the Salt Lake site and car parking issues. There was no shortage of ideas from the members of what proposals they would like to see for their town.

What a transformation to Pyle Library. During a recent visit, I was able to see for myself how much the library had changed. It is open, light, modern and above all very welcoming. This much needed refurbishment has been possible thanks to funding from the Welsh Government and from Awen Cultural Trust. It is lovely to hear that so many community groups are using the library and I would encourage people to take a look.
