Spectrum Technology in Bridgend is celebrating its 30th birthday this year. Established in 1989, the company with its headquarters in Bridgend has grown from humble beginnings to be the global player it is today. Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones was delighted to join in their recent celebrations at the company’s headquarters on the Industrial Estate.
Attending the celebrations, there was an opportunity to have a tour of the factory and to see the machines in action. It was also an opportunity to hear from the Chairman and CEO Dr Peter Dickinson who talked about the company’s achivements to date and about its future plans for the company. Over the past 30 years, Spectrum Technology has exported more than £130m of machinery to more than 55 countries.
Mr Jones said “ I visited the factory in 2014, the year that the company celebrated its 25th anniversary so I am pleased that I have been able to pop into and help the factory celebrate another significant milestone. The company has indeed grown from humble beginnings and has grown to be a global presence. They have not only become a key supplier of what they produce on the global stage but have been able to retain that position in recent times. Throughout this they have kept their local roots, employing people from the local area and links with the local supply chains and the wider business community.”
