Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones was very pleased to join Sheppards Pharmacy staff to officially open their pharmacy in Kenfig Hill following a substantial refit.
The work was completed in eight weeks and whilst it was being carried out, customers were still able to access the store. The refurbished pharmacy is modern, bright and is more staff and customer friendly. There is also a brand new purpose built private consultation area.
The pharmacy staff have stated that they are ‘thrilled with the results’ and it was good to hear that their customers agree as the feedback to the changes has been so positive.
Mr Jones said “It was lovely to meet some of the staff and to hear about the wide range of services that they now offer from the Smoking Cessation service and undertaking discharge medications reviews to help keep patients at home rather than in hospital through to undertaking influenza vaccinations for the first time this winter. Their aim is to achieve the highest level of primary healthcare provision to the local community.
“Pharmacists can be the first port of call for advice and care on minor ailments and general health queries. Pharmacies are a valuable asset to any community and I would encourage people to make as full use as possible of the services that they offer.”
