Visitors from Hong Kong to the Welsh Assembly

In April, Bridgend AM Carwyn Jones welcomed visitors from Hong Kong to the Welsh Assembly. The group were very interested in visiting the Assembly with their host, Mr John Berry. The group had a tour of the Assembly and had the opportunity of watching First Ministers Questions.

Mr Jones said “It is always interesting to hear feedback from our international visitors about the National Assembly for Wales and our legislative practices. I spoke to the group after they had watched part of a plenary session and they described what they had seen as ‘civilised’. The group asked a range of questions about both my role as the local AM and my role as First Minister.

“The group was somewhat depleted when I met them as the ladies of the group had been tempted away by the bright lights of John Lewis. The group were only in Cardiff for a few days and wanted to fit in as much as possible before embarking on a walking holiday in the north of England.”
